Meditation and Dharma Talk: Sundays, 10 to 11am: In person and on Zoom. 30 minutes of zazen (silent seated meditation), followed by a 30 minute Dharma talk and discussion on Zen teachings. For Zoom, join using the link above. For in person practice, we meet at a private home in Naples. Please contact us for details.
Last Sunday of each month, 10-11am: Zazen and Dokusan. In person and on Zoom. In lieu of a Dharma talk, Laurie will offer dokusan (private face to face teachings) on the last Sunday of each month. This will be during two rounds of silent seated meditation at Laurie’s home and on Zoom. Zoom participants won’t be able to have dokusan, but are always welcome to contact Laurie to schedule a time to talk.
Yoga Nidra: Mondays, 7:30 to 8:15pm. On Zoom with Sensei Laurie.
Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep. This is a powerful practice, immediately accessible to practitioners of all experience levels. 30 minute guided meditation, practiced lying down, designed to still the waves of the mind through conscious entry into a deeply restful state. We use specific techniques in order to trigger the relaxation response. Class ends with group discussion. Leave feeling refreshed and healed! No previous experience necessary.
Meditate and Create: 1st Wednesdays of each month, 7:30 to 8:30pm. On Zoom. Each class, we will draw inspiration from a Zen poem or koan chosen by Laurie. You’re also welcome to choose something you’d like to work with creatively, and email Laurie in advance at practice@zenartsflorida.com. We will meditate on the poem or story, then respond creatively with writing, drawing, painting, or any creative outlet you like. Our time concludes with sharing. Have your favorite art supplies handy.
